A scarce large brass die struck cap badge at circa 5.5cm wide and 5.4cm tall, with two original lugs to the reverse. Kings crown therefore pre 1953 and only worn for a couple of years. Good stiff badge with much detail, which is both sharp and attractive. Actually it is better than that!

Renfrew et al in Volume 1 " British Colonial Badges " states this was the collar badge of the Royal Malta Artillery. However, in an article in M.H.S. Bulletin no.269 August 2017 by Dennis Darmanian (photo on p18) he claims this as an alternate badge as worn by the Malta Home Guard.
