Removed from uniform, a printed cloth formation sign in good condition . PAI Command / Force served in this area keeping vital supply lines with Russia open. Also quelled the Iraq rebellion of 1941. Badge design attributed to General commanding whose nickname was Jumbo! Worn by British HQ troops in Iraq following the disbandment of PAI. Rare.

Original printed formation sign in unissued condition. Colours bright.

During wartime it was ALFSEA (Allied Land Forces South East Asia), then worn by SEALF (HQ South East Asia Land Forces) which succeeded ALFSEA in December 1946. Changed again on 15th August 1947 to FARELF ( Far Eastern Land Forces (British Army)), but with no change to formation sign design.

In April 1956 the 11th Armoured Division in BAOR was converted to an infantry role and to be a reincarnation of the WW2 4th Infantry Division and took on the sign previously used by this formation but with the red circle now on a black as opposed to a white ground.
