Worn by 82nd ( Essex ) HAA Regt R.A. (TF ) from 1943 and used 1947 - 1955 by 482 HAA Regt R.A. ( TA) ( Waring No 595 and Norman Litchfield 71-2 refer ).

WW2 Home Front - 8th Ant-Aircraft Division Matched Pair of Formation Signs
A Black Dornier German Aircraft with a Red Star representing a shell burst on a Duck Egg Blue Background. The Division was raised in 1940 for the air defence of South Wales and the West of England. They are produced in a fine silk and therefore quite fragile. They have a hessian liner to give them some strength. Some marks and minor damage but on the whole an attractive pair.

An facing set of printed formation signs with edges folded over, one more neatly trimmed than the other but otherwise a great original facing set.
HQ Luton. Territory covered East Anglia and Central Midlands. This pattern with a bulldog was worn until 1947 only and then replaced by a Viking's head above crossed swords.

Removed from uniform, in very good condition. AA between a thistle head. I good condition. Tape to reverse of backing.
