Uncut and unissued condition, colours rich and bright. Authorised only as non facing pairs. The War Office refused to correct this. An another version (listed below) as a much less impressive and smaller pair of lions 'passant guardant'.

A small formation sign in good condition. Some glue traces to reverse. The red M on blue signifying its Manchester origins. Raised in 1939 and served in North-West Europe in WW2. A pen annotation to reverse identifying the unit. Rare.

WW2 61st Infantry Division Printed Cloth Formation Sign Badge
Removed from uniform, worn between 1939 and 1945. UK based, a second line Territorial Army Division, it spent a considerable time in Northern Ireland, and acted mainly as a training and drafting Division. Remains of a sticky tab to reverse otherwise in good overall condition.

1st Pattern printed 5th Division formation sign above a maroon / purple Maltese cross for the 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment sewn on to a cut out panel of battledress sleeve. Some mothing to Wiltshire cross on left hand-side otherwise in good condition.

As part of 21st Army Group, 8 Corps landed in Normandy with the 7th and 11th Armoured under its command and fought from the landings all the way into Germany.
