Aeronautical Inspection Directorate (AID) On HM Service Mini lapel badge - Ladies Issue

A small gilt brass and enamel lapel badge as worn by this civilian organisation involved in the quality control of the aviation manufacturing industry during WW2. Original pin fitting (fully functional) with maker details ‘Roden London’ to reverse. In very good condition with no damage to the enamel. Circa 2.2cm tall.

WW1 Home Front - Scarce Dundee Women's Suffrage Society War Relief Fund Gilt and Enamel Badge

An attractive gilt and enamel badge which shows the crest of the city of Dundee, 29mm in diameter. It is engraved with 37/2 and has the maker's details on the reverse Rattray, Dundee. It also has an extra loop mounted on it for a safety chain (the safety chain is no longer present). In good condition with only a small bit of surface damage to the surface of the enamel at about 1 o'clock.

Introduced in 1941, circa 26mm in diameter struck in white metal. The King's Badge was awarded to British Forces personnel who had been invalided out of the services during WW2 and were entitled to a war disablement pension. They were both unnamed and unnumbered. In good condition.

Rare WW2 German POW Internment War Work Inlaid Wood Vesta

This is a very high quality inlaid wooden vesta or match safe, to the front it has ‘P.O.W. Shrewsbury camp’ and to the back a lovely inlaid star shape. Research shows that the pow camp at Shrewsbury was used to house German internees and other German prisoners captured at the various fronts (see below). Scottish Naval and Military Veterans White Metal Glengarry / Tam O'Shanter Cap Badge - 1910

A beautifully struck example with two original loops and cotter pin. Has a lovely quality to it. The Veteran Reserve was created in 1910, becoming the National Reserve in the following year. Circa 5cms tall.
