23rd Regiment of Foot (Royal Welch (Welsh) Fusiliers) Officer's Waist Belt Clasp (WBC) pre 1881
Scarce pre-1881 officers silver and gilt, the "Small plumes / large numbers" pattern waist belt clasp. The Prince of Wales's plumes above the number "23" to the centre of a circlet bearing the title with plain squared rococo scrolled belt loops to each end. Some dark toning to silver otherwise gilt bright and in good condition. No benchmarks evident but a good tight match.
