Seaforth Highlanders Officer 's OSD Collar Badge F Cypher with Elephant
F Cypher is the officer 's pattern, die cast with two original loops the reverse. The Elephant which is die struck faces left with wo original lugs to the reverse. Circa 3.3cm wide and 2.3cm tall. Slight mark to bronze finish, almost black, which shows it to be brass underneath. Good stiff and heavy original badge with original slider. Some polishing to stripes on tiger, but not too severe and remains of paper label on slider. Good condition otherwise. Circa 4.3cm tall and 4.8cm wide.

Has seen some service wear as evidenced by some denting to edges of bugle and some polishing to high points. Curved to fit hat and retaining original slider.

This pattern was worn 1922 - 1958. Circa 4.cm wide, with original slider, maker marked Buttons Ld, B'ham. 3 braising / sweat holes to reverse. Good strong badge, with some polishing to acorn in centre, otherwise good detail and slight twist to top ray of star.
