Middle East - British Military Mission - Libya Embroidered Formation Sign Patch Flash
As worn, a scarce embroidered example of the white Star and Crescent within Arabic script on a circular background of red black and green, with four press-stud fittings to the reverse. In very good condition. Worn 1958 - 1969. The mission was very small. In 1958 it consisted of only 10 officers, 12 SNCOs and 12 administrative ORs.

A scarce and well made, attractive theatre made large and heavy cast cap badge to this colonial war raised unit which was formed in 1939 and took part in the first raid on El Wak on 18th June 1940 (Rosignoli, pages 32 and Plate 17 refer).
