Designated as the 8th Bury Rifle Volunteers in 1859 and in 1883 redesignated as the 1st Volunteer Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers.

Circa19mm in diameter, fixed shank, with maker's details Jennens & Co London to the reverse. A slight edge nick to rim and tarnishing to button otherwise in very good condition with sharp detail. This unit became the 1st Volunteer Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers in 1883. So this is an early volunteer button.
