Belived to be that worn by Canadian Army's 23rd Armoured Regiment (Halifax Rifles), formed in 1946. They were redesignated in 1949 as The Halifax Rifles (23rd Armoured Regiment) and then in 1958 The Halifax Rifles (RCAC).

Royal Sussex Regiment Large Silver Plated Mess Waiters / Orderlies Button
Circa 29 mm in diameter, fixed shank and maker marked Jennens & Co (PoW feathers) London to reverse. A very large solid button with light wear to silver plate on highpoints otherwise in very good condition.
Pre 1912 as Jennens stopped making buttons about then. Scarce as there would only have been circa half a dozen officers' mess room orderlies.
