Impossible to date to either WW1 or WW2 as the raised foot of the lion was used on badges of the Tyneside Scottish in both of these wars. So potentially of Northumberland Fusiliers, Durham Light Infantry, Black Watch or possibly Royal Artillery interest too! It has some moth damage to bottom section. Tyneside / 2 / Scottish. As Worn by the 21st (Service Battalion) Northumberland Fusiliers who were styled as a Pals battalion the 2nd Battalion Tyneside Scottish. Complete with original backing plate (some staining), in good condition with slight service wear, all parts with the correct hexagonal style lugs and cotter pins.

The Northumberland Fusiliers Shooting Competition Prize Hallmarked Silver and Enamel Spoon - Attributed
13cm long. Reverse engraved on reverse as awarded to
"4269046 Fus. H. Walker, Score 75". Reverse also maker's mark R&S and Birmingham date letter H ( 1932 ). Enamel in excellent condition with no damage also spoon in good condition, slight tarnishing to silver but will polish up nicely. In near mint condition.

Correctly impressed, original length of ribbon, but medal in overall very poor condition.
An unusual story lies behind this humble medal. Royal Irish Fusiliers ( RIF) Pair of Princess Victorias Coronet White Metal Collar Badges
A close match, this pair of white metal coronets have two original dark toned lugs to the reverse of each. Worn from 1888, usually horizontally in combination with the grenade collar badge, with the coronet worn nearest the collar open. grenade badges not present.
In good condition and an earlier issue by the colouration of the lugs.

Front cover: an evocative image of a British Bulldog standing guard over the Union Flag. Circa 90 plus pages with slots for holding the postcards.
