Postally unused, gloss finish and blank reverse. An amazingly crisp original portrait with a very clear image of his wolseley sun helmet and pagri flash " 5 / Hants ", colour sergeant sash, pioneer crossed axes above sergeant chevrons to right arm, and his IGS medal ribbon, which dates the photo nicely to later in 1919.

A rare original circa pre 1939 period 'S S Jervis Bay gilt and enamel ships wheel badge' displaying the blue ensign 'Flag of Australia' to the centre. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel intact, minor surface scratches. Circa 2.8cms in diameter.

Attractively engraved, "J.McD" in top corner, 1st Battalion 5th Fusiliers and has a scroll listing the Northumberland Fusiliers battle honours up to and including the WW1. The reverse is engraved "Cologne Germany1923".

An interesting picture, Postally unused but identified on reverse in two separate hands. Some corner wear to three corners and a small crease in top right corner, otherwise a good colonial image of the regiment headed by the band on the march in tropical climes, which by the looks of the background is in Africa.
