2nd King Edward VIIs Own Gurkha Rifles (The Simoor Rifles) Unusual White Plaster Cast of Mess Servants Badge, 1940 - 1947
Circa 4.5cms in diameter, a plaster disc, presumably produced as a master for a metal die stamp and a unique and unusual item from the collection of a former senior officer of the Regiment. Indian made sand cast cap badge with two integral tombstone style lugs to the reverse with thin cotter pin. Well made and with separately applied blackened brass handles to simulate the wooden handles of the kukri. Some service wear. Transferred to the Indian Army with independence in 1947.
