WW1 South Africa - 2 / ZAR Theatre Made Brass Shoulder Title - 2nd South African Horse
A good scarce locally made hand cut sheet brass shoulder title to the 2nd Zuid Afrikaans Ruiters (2nd South African Horse). Made from sheet brass or fired cartridge and cleverly shaped to incorporate loops at either end, but all made from one piece. In very good condition. Worn 1915 - 1918.

Locally cast with gilt applied finish and original short slider to the reverse. Some minor service wear. At some point during WW2 the 5th were also allocated to Kenya. Scarce.
