India - Army Remount Department Officers Die Cast Cap Badge - Gaunt
A die cast bronze example polished back to the brass with two original loops to the reverse and maker marked JR Gaunt London.
The Army Remount Department was formed in circa 1875 at Soharanpur but badges were not authorised until 1931 (Indian Dress Regulations 1931 para 179).

The Muslim element of the former Governor General and Viceroy's Bodyguard, the device suitably altered with the Crescent and Star in place of the crown and the letters PBG on the centre of crossed lancers. Two original loops to the reverse. Most probably local silver or silver plated. A badge of nice quality, circa 4cm tall. HQ Islamabad. Circa 1947 onwards.

The monogram UPH under a padded velvet crown with coloured silks, the badge in good bullion thread. Much of orange backing paper now absent, otherwise in great condition with no damage to the bullion or velvet. Circa 1904 - 1947. In very good condition and rare.

Indian Army - MD Indian (Subordinate) Medical Department, large brass shoulder title
A large title, circa 2.9cm wide and 2cm tall. Indian made, of very good quality. Circa 1897 - 1920 (I believe 'IMD' was worn from 1920 - 1947).
Comprised of Indian native and anglo Indian staff who served as assistant surgeons. The 'subordinate' was dropped in 1920.
