Scarce brass cap badge with two original loops to the reverse. Circa 5.2cm wide. In good condition with sharp detail. A crocodile upon a voided tablet "E.B.Co." This was worn after 1917 when the Eastern Bengal Volunteer Rifles was re-designated 41st Eastern Bengal Company.

Cast white metal. possibly silver plated (given how dark toned it has become) with two original lugs to the reverse. The lettters SSS interspaced between crossed gurkha kukri knifes beneath a King's Crown. As is found with every example of this badge, the final "S" is truncated. Circa 3.2cm wide and 3.5cm tall.

The Calcutta Light Horse was raised in 1872 and formed part of the Cavalry Reserve in the British Indian Army. The regiment was disbanded following India's independence in 1947. The circular design of the quoit or chakran is a traditional Sikh motif, and this pattern was worn post 1922 by the 3rd Battalion ( Rattrays ) - originally the Bengal Military Police Battalion, formed in 1856. read more

An extremely fine forage side cap badge to the 1st Punjab Regiment, post 1922, with two original lugs to the reverse. A small die cast badge of circa 3cm wide and 3cm tall. Small crack line to right of elephant's ear, possible a die flaw, but this does not go through the badge. Indian made in unmarked silver and of special super quality. A stunner!
