George III / Napoleonic Manchester & Salford Yeomanry Cavalry Officers Ball Tunic Button - Peterloo

Circa 19mm in diameter, closed backed ball button with fixed shank. Marked Treble Gilt to reverse. Gilt to front now mainly worn back to the base metal but in very good and attractive condition. The letters M & S YC below a Georgian crown. Worn circa 1798 - 1830. Scarce. Final image for information only.

This yeomanry regiment achieved lasting infamy on the 16th August 1819, at the Peterloo massacre.
