Georgian Napoleonic Generic Volunteer Corps Officer's Button - Excavated Condition

A demi lion rampant above a shield with a stylized V to centre. Circa 17mm in diameter, open backed but shank missing, silver plated finish still evident to front but mainly missing. Sold as seen, no returns on this item. Any information welcome. Worn circa 1796 - 1808.
