WW1 Home Front - Leeds (Yorkshire) Special Constable Constabulary Police Mufti Gilt & Enamel Lapel Buttonhole Pin Badge - Dated 1914
A scarce original First World War period mufti (off duty) 'Special Constable police badge'; gilt blue, white and red enamels 'Leeds Special Constable 1914' titled strap surmounted by a King's crown; the solid centre bearing the arms of Leeds; the reverse impressed with early period maker's details 'Owen, Leeds' (only just legible). Complete with original pin fittings. Circa 3.6cms tall. Gilt a bit dull and some loss of detail to owls but enamel intact (slight surface damage). In reasonable condition.
