WW1 Home Front France - Patriotic French Hallmarked Silver and Enamel Pin Brooch Badge - 1914

Silver dark toned, enamel intact with original and functional pin fittings and clasp. Maker marked.

An original French made patriotic pin brooch, maker marked 'Depose', and continental silver hallmark ('SM' in a traingle) and silver purity marked as 0,935. Dated 1914 to front. Flags of the allies picked out in enamel including Great Britain, France, Russia and Belgium in the ribbon at the base. Features a French 75 gun to the centre. Circa 3cm tall. In good condition for age.

The design has with British Dreadnaught and flag at top, a French Female warrior to side of centre scene war ships and 1914 setting and the legends:

'le droit prime la force' (translation: might is right)
and at base 'gloire au 75' ('glory to the 75' - a famous French field gun).
