The Surrey Yeomanry (Lancers) (Queen Mary's Regiment) Brass Other Ranks Larger Pattern Cap Badge

Die struck in gilding metal with two original loops to the reverse (one slightly bent). The larger pattern at circa 5.1cms tall. In very good condition with sharp detail. Gaylor (p90) confirms found in two sizes. The final photo shows a comparison between this larger version and its smaller cousin, which is available for sale as item 68089 (which is only 4.1cms tall).

This unit was 39th in the order of precedence of yeomanry regiments. First raised 1901 (replacing the 2nd West Yorkshire Yeomanry which had been raised in 1843 and disbanded in 1894).
