WW1 Borough of Burnley Special Constable Constabulary Police Gilt and Enamel Mufti Buttonhole Lapel Badge - Red Outer Ring - converted to Cap Badge

A large badge, 40mm tall in good condition apart from pin fittings neatly removed and a soldered slider to the reverse making this possible for wear as a cap badge. Slider has been folder over again on account of its length. Gilt bright and no enamel damage. Maker marked.

Same pattern also found with blue and green enamel outer rings. Speculation that this was to signify different ranks.
