WW1 Indian Princely State Forces (Jodhpur) - The Maharaja of Jodhpur 1st & 2nd Lancers Large Cast Brass NCO's Arm Badge - Battle Honour - Marwar
A large and impressive brass cast badge in the shape of a 'Cheel' (Kite) facing right with wings outstretched, perched on a scroll with the inscription 'MARWAR', the ancient name for the kingdom of Jodhpur. Three of three integral tombstone style fixings to the reverse. Circa 7.3cms tall. In good worn condition. It was worn on the upper right arm. Rare.
The Jodhpur Lancers was raised in 1888 under the Imperial Service Troops Scheme. It fought in China in 1900, in France, Flanders, Megiddo, Damascus and Palestine during WW1.
