WW1 Canada - 24th (Victoria Rifles of Canada) Battalion CEF Bronzed Cap Badge - Tiptaft

Scarce UK made version with slider with correct stamping to reverse of slider for J W Tiptaft / Birmingham. In very good condition. Do not be fooled by the Queen's crown (the clue is in the title), this is a WW1 period badge.

Charlton confirms found with a slider and made by Tiptaft. Whilst various forums claim sliders stamped with this maker's details in two lines are incorrect or spurious, the mark concerned is larger and has larger gaps between the words either side of the ampersand (&). There are examples of Australian rising sun cap badges made by Tiptaft which are double stamped, with naming on the back of the badge and again on the slider in this fashion. I am entirely satisfied this is an original badge.

Charlton p51 refers.
