Indian Army WW2 Campaign Medals - 1st Battalion / 5th Royal Gurkha Rifles (Frontier Force)

A scarce & desirable 'Gurkha Middle East' medal group of 4, 3 of which are attributed to Corporal NK (Naik) Narbahadur Gurung. The medals are:
- The 1939-45 Star (unnamed as issued)
- The Africa Star (named to reverse:4049. Nk. Narbahadur Gurung, 1/5th R.G.R.)
- The Italy Star (named to reverse:4049. Nk. Narbahadur Gurung, 1/5th R.G.R.)
-War Medal 1939-45 (named to rim: 4049. Nk. Narbahadur Gurung, 1/5th R.G.R.)

Note: Of those medals which are named, they are officially named impressed issues awarded by the Indian Army. Some rubbing on rim near regimental number on the war medal otherwise in GVF condition. Worthy of further research. Naik is the rank of Corporal in Nepalese.

During the Second World War, the 1st Battalion 5th Gurkhas as part of the 8th Indian Infantry Division's 17th Indian Infantry Brigade served in the Mediterranean and Middle East Theatre (including the Italian Campaign).

Please note I will only post medals to a UK address.
