Indian Army WW2 Campaign Medals - 11th Gorkha Rifles!

A scarce & desirable 'Gurkha Far East' medal group of 4: Rifleman Manbahadur Gurung, 11th Gorkha Rifles including a 11th Gorkha Rifles White Metal chromed cast cap badge with two original loops and cotter pin. The medals are:
- The 1939-45 Star (named to reverse: 9400121. Rfn. Manbahadur Gurung, 11 G.R.)
- The Burma Star (named to reverse: 9400121. Rfn. Manbahadur Gurung, 11 G.R.)
- War Medal 1939-1945 (unnamed as issued, possibly replacing the a lost named version)
-India War Medal 1939-45 (named to rim: 9400121. Rfn. Manbahadur Gurung, 11 G.R.)

Note: Those medals which are named are all officially named impressed issues awarded by the Indian Army. They most probably relate to the recipient's service with either the 7th or 10th Gurkha Rifles, prior to Independence, and then recipient transferred to the newly created Indian Army's 11th Gorkha Rifles, hence the naming.

The 11 Gorkha Rifles was officially re-raised on 1 January 1948, with the regimental centres at Palampur and Santa Cruz, Mumbai. The regimental centre was subsequently shifted to Jalapahar in Darjeeling, and then moved to Clement Town, Dehradun for a brief period, and finally to Lucknow where it was firmly established. The regiment was raised predominantly with the manpower from the non-optees of the 7th and 10th Gurkha Rifles. As the regiment was raised by the Indian Army after independence, it was decided not to retain the honours and traditions of the first 11th Gurkha Rifles of the British Indian Army.

The medals have been stapled to a card backing for display (provenance: ex Mark Carter Medals).

Please note I will only post to a UK address.
