7th Duke of Edinburgh's Own Gurkha Rifles Officer's Pouch Belt with Pouch and Silver Plated Fittings, QEII Issue, First Pattern, 1953 - 1959

A black faux leather black plastic belt with silver plated fittings complete with pouch. Some service marks to belt but in very good overall condition. A silver plated cross belt badge with four of four screw posts and with four out of four original retaining nuts to the reverse and mounted on a silvered back plate (fitted to inside of belt). As worn from 1953 - 1959. Pouch Belt Plate is circa 107mm tall and 76mm wide, whilst the pouch badge is circa 38mm tall and 27mm wide and this pattern of pouch badge was worn from 1950 - 1994.

"insignia of the 7th Duke of Edinburgh's Own Gurkha Rifles" published by the Gurkha Museum fig 7GR A2 refers in respect of the pouch belt plate, 7GR A6A for the whistle boss, keep and chain and 7GR B2 in respect of the two part pouch badge (which is the cap badge as worn on the pouch pre 1960 with loop fixings and in silver plate). Scarce.
