Royal Berkshire Regiment Carved Wooden Oak Trinket / Cigarette Box

A very attractive little box, well made from Oak and attractively hand carved with the regimental badge of the Royal Berkshire Regiment. Pivot lid with plenty of space to store whatever you wish, mementoes. badges, medals, but most probably originally intended for storing cigarettes. A unique item, Euopean in origin, and not carved in India or the Far East. Initials "V.N." neatly scribed to the reverse. Circa 6.5cms tall and 9cms wide on the base and 13cms by 14cms on the pivot top. Lovely patina and in very good condition, with no damage or worm.
