DLI Bronze Alloy WW2 Normandy Sculpture By Durham Sculptor Paul Edward Dunn
I have had this in my collection for a number of years, a sculpture of a bren-gunner of the Durham Light Infantry (DLI) in full kit of the 151st Infantry Brigade, 50th Northumbrian Division of D-Day / Normandy fame. No damage to the item and signed by the sculptor, Paul Edward Dunn of Durham. It is unboxed (but will come securely packed). I think these were a limited edition at the time, but I have no paperwork to that effect. It stands 12 inches tall, has no damage and is heavy so please note I will only post to a UK address. A great piece to commemorate this famous north eastern regiment and the part it played in the liberation of Europe.
On D-Day 6 June 1944, the 6th, 8th and 9th Battalions DLI, all part of the 151st Brigade and the same three battalions that had landed in Sicily - waded ashore on Gold Beach as part of the Allied invasion of Normandy.
