WW2 Canadian Armoured (Armored) Corps (CAC) Fighting Vehicle Training Centre Chromed White Metal 'Borden' Staff Cap Badge - Scully

A scarce pattern to find, 'long tank' / Borden Camp staff / instructors cap badge with two original loops and maker marked Scully Ltd Montreal to reverse. A pleasing example.

LAC documentation indicates a badge was made for the staff of this school circa 1938-9. The rather awkwardly long name led to it being nick-named the Borden badge after the camp where they were based. But as the staff was dispersed somewhat once the war needs led to an expansion of the training facilities elsewhere. The Canadian Armoured Corps was not organized until 1940, and the CAC badges followed shortly after.
