2nd North York Volunteers QVC Victorian Large Pattern White Metal Button
Circa 23.5mm in diameter, fixed shank and maker marked G & H Bullivant, Birmingham. Oxidised silver plate finish with sharp detail and in very good condition. Became a Volunteer Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment in 1883. Officer quality. Scarce.
Howard Ripley's Rifle Volunteer Buttons 1859-1908 identifies it as 2nd Admin. Bn. (then 2nd Corps) North Riding of Yorkshire Rifle Volunteers.
1860: 2nd Admin. Bn. (Malton).
1880: 2nd Corps (Scarborough).
1883: 2nd V.B. Princess of Wales's Own (Yorkshire Regiment).
