Victorian 2nd Volunteer Battalion Durham Light Infantry (DLI) Officers Large Original Sepia Black and White Photograph
Large and original sepia photo of the officers of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion Durham Light Infantry circa 1890s. Some fading to image now with age, but boss badges on fore and aft side caps visible and also the distinctive shoulder belt plate worn by them. Interesting to see the sabretache badge also between then knees of the CO seated in the centre of the front row. Unusually a Lewisham photographer's stamp to the card on the reverse so they must have been 'down south' for their annual camp. Circa 24cms wide and 18cms tall. The top half of the image looks like white canvas tent. A rare image. Any more information about when and where would be very welcome.
