Queen's Gurkha Signals Field Officers Full Dress Peaked Forage Cap

A field officer's peaked forage cap of the Queen's Gurkha Signals with plain gold embroidery , or passing, on the peak. Lieutenant-Colonels and Majors are 'field officers'. Hat made my Moss Bros, no size indicated and not attributable. Plastic liner intact and only minor service wear to cap peak's edge and with some dulling to gold embroidery. No moth.

The cap is made from high quality doeskin with black piping. Fittings include black patent leather chin strap with chin strap buttons for the Queen's Gurkha Signals. It has a black oakleaf hat band upon which is mounted an officer's die cast cap badge, QEII issue, which appears to be hallmarked silver with gilt overlays. I can only just make out the hallmark stamps to the reverse of one of the kukri blades and without taking the cap apart, as the badge is is sewn into the hat behind the silk liner, I cannot be absolutely certain. So it is sold on the basis of being silver plated and if hallmarked then regard this as a bonus.
