11th (Prince Albert's Own) Hussars Fire Gilt Officer's Full Dress Cap Badge
A die cast fire gilt example with two of two original long loops to the reverse (slightly bent inwards) otherwise in excellent condition.
The Regiment used the family crest of the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (the family crest of Prince Albert) with the motto 'Treu und fest' ('Loyal and steadfast'). A Germanic symbol which survived throughout WW1, unlike the more blatant use of eagles by other regiments.
K&K Vol 1, Fig. 766 refers.
