KEO 2nd Gurkha Rifles Mounted Officer's Horse Browband Ornaments Badges
Some service wear, but a scarce item as only a couple of officer's in the Battalion would have been mounted, usually the CO and the Adjutant. Worn circa 1911 - 1939. Complete with box slider to reverse and marked R presumably for wear on the right side. Some tarnishing and staining to brass. Rare item.
Circa 55mm in diameter, white metal mounted PoW straight sided plumes (as introduced for 2GR in 1911) with the separate letters KEO below. According to the museum guide there could also have been other Indian Army units who may have been also known as King Edward's Own but they do feature in the museum publication as possibly 2GR.
Gurkha Museum "The 2nd King Edward VII's Own Gurkha Rifles (The Simoor Rifles) p71, Fig H5 refers.
