WW1 Lord Roberts "A Silent Tribute" Memorial Works Medal

In memory of Lord Roberts who died in 1916, a small two part constructed tin medal on original ribbon (damaged and just hanging on). The observe with a portrait of Lord Roberts and the reverse with "A Silent Tribute" to centre and the edge states "Made in the Lord Roberts Memorial Workshops, B'Ham"(Birmingham). Interesting and scarce. A forerunner of Remploy Ltd as this was a workshop created for WW1 disabled soldiers to enable them to work and find an income.
