North Staffordshire Regiment Silver Plated Volunteer Battalion Officer's Collar Badge

Silver plated with two original silvered loops to the reverse. Circa 4cms wide and 2.3cms tall. In very good condition.

Churchill claims that the Volunteer Battalions initially wore the plain knot in white metal before adopting a more ornate pattern with the Prince of Wales Plumes superimposed over the knot. See page 248.
