6th Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) - Fifeshire Volunteer Battalion White Metal Glengarry Badge

A genuine die struck white metal glengarry badge, version with garter rather than a circlet, with two original brass loops to the reverse (nipped together but functional just about) worn by the 6th (Fifeshire) Volunteer Battalion, The Black Watch. The Thain of Fife to the centre of a strap bearing the motto. Some staining to finish and centre motif delicate from damage. The points which secure the knight about from the field he is on have all been broken away from the circlet, the front hoof, the helmet plume and horse's tail are all floating free. Looks OK from the front but condition reflected in price ( sold as seen, no returns on this item). Circa 1887 - 1908.

Bloomer pp73-74 refer.
