WW1 City of London Police Reserve Special Sergeant Constabulary Mufti Blue Enamel Lapel Badge

A scarce Sergeant's lapel badge, shows quite a bit of service wear to the enamel and it has some nibbles, dulling and scratches. Original horseshoe maker marked JR Gaunt & Son London. Despite condition, hard to find. This was a small force.

Wilkinson & Cowdell 'Special Constabulary Insignia of England & Wales' (2nd Edn) p77, Fig 5 refers. Blue enamels signifies the rank of Sergeant.
