WW2 Civilian Technical Corps (CTC) American radar personnel CTC cap badge

A scarce Second World War chromium plated cap badge, 'CTC" script within an open laurel wreath. Very good condition, retaining original two loop fittings, an excellent example. Circa 28mm tall.

The Civilian Technical Corps was raised in 1941 after the huge success of radar in the Battle of Britain and the rapid spread of radar installations across the country. Lord Beaverbrook made a plea to the American citizens for volunteers to come forward with their radio technical skills and to directly assist Great Britain with the war effort. They wore the CTC cap badge with RAF uniform and their Headquarters were in Bournemouth.
