1st Cambridge Rifle Volunteers Other Ranks White Metal Glengarry Badge

A die struck white metal cap badge for the 1st Cambridgeshire Rifle Volunteers (Essex, Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire). In lovely condition complete with two original brass lugs. Circa 5.2cms in diameter. Worn 1881 - 1887.

The 17th Essex Rifle Volunteers and the 1st Huntingdonshire Rifle Volunteers transferred into this unit in 1880.

In 1887 the Regiment was renamed as the 3rd (Cambridgeshire) Volunteer Battalion, The Suffolk Regiment.
