WW1 War Raised Unit - 2nd Battalion King Edward's Horse Gilding Metal Cap Badge

A good stiff die struck cap badge with original slider fixing - very slight truncation of this to a square end, otherwise in very good condition with sharp detail. Circa 6cms tall.

The second battalion of this unit King Edwards Horse (The King's Overseas Dominions Regiment appeared in 1914 (this date appears on the badge). There was no connection with the original unit and certainly no love lost. The 1st KEH never called themselves the 1st simply preferring to believe that the 2nd never existed. The 2nd were disbanded in 1924, so all in all a scarce war raised unit badge. Strong original slider.
