East Lancashire Regiment Other Ranks Brass Helmet Plate Centre (HPC)

Brass other ranks Home Service helmet plate centre with four original brass staple style loops to the reverse. The Sphinx sitting on EGYPT in white-metal, the remainder in gilding-metal. Designed to be worn with the universal pattern helmet plate 1881 - 1914 as the Helmet Plate Centre and on the Glengarry until 1895, usually with a separate brass QVC crown above. Some signs of service wear but overall, in good condition. Worn circa 1881 - 1914.
