WW2 - 27th Armoured Brigade Embroidered Felt Cloth Formation Sign

Rare woven cloth formation sign of a golden seahorse on blue felt shield, removed from uniform. In good condition, gold/yellow thread darkened with age but with no moth, repairs and only minor edge wear. Worn in facing pairs, this one the seahorse facing left.

This Brigade saw much action in the D-Day landings, landing on D-Day as part of the 3rd Division. Rest of the 27th Armoured supported the follow up attacks at Caen. The badge designed by Captain Tony Farrell, 44 RTR. Disbanded 30th July 1944.
