Royal Anglian Regiment Officers Garrison Side Cap - Attributed

A good quality vintage cap for the Anglian regiment worn by an officer, maker's label for Herbert Johnson Ltd, Old Burlington Street, London and it also has the owner's name of 'Denny' sewn to the inside. It comes in very good condition with no moth damage, small officer's chrome and gilt cap star badge with retaining cotter pin. Two original gilt and silver-plated Royal Anglian Regiment mounted cap buttons to front.

DENNY, MAJOR JOHN WILLIAM Late the Royal Norfolk Regiment and the Royal Anglian Regiment died on March 14, 2016, aged 87 years. His funeral service was held at St. Edmunds Church, Southwold on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

An on-line search confirmed he started his career with Army Fire Service, Royal Army Service Corps in GB and Kenya, 1946-1948; served with 1st Bn Norfolk Regt in UK, Korea, Hong Kong, Cyprus and Germany; served with 1st Bn, 2nd East Anglian Regt in Germany, 1963; served with 2nd Ugandan Rifles in Uganda, 1964; served with 3rd Bn, Royal Anglian Regt in UK, Cyprus and Germany, 1969-1971.
