Border Regiment Far East Theatre Airtex Cloth Woven Black on Jungle Green Slip Ons

An original matched pair of woven Jungle Green shoulder slip on slides titles, China-Burma-India (India) Theatre made and rare.

The 2nd Battalion adopted a straight brass title, and the 1st Battalion had a curved one. I am not clear as to whether this tradition was carried forward into cloth shoulder titles, but when the two battalions merged in 1948, the curved title was adopted by Other Ranks and officers adopted the straight title.

The 2nd Battalion was in India on the outbreak of WW2. It shifted to Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in July 1942, before fighting in Burma from November 1943 onwards as part of the 14th Army / Chindit force.
