WW2 Essex County Division – Woven Cloth Formation Sign Badge

Removed from uniform a bit grubby and one small hole which extends to a small tear, but scarce despite condition.

The Essex County Division was formed 18 February 1941 by redesignation of the West Sussex County Division. At this time the existing Sussex Martlet badge was abandoned, and this new badge adopted. Essex County Division was itself disbanded 7 October 1941. Versions also exist on a shield and with the word 'ESSEX 'above the seaxes, which the badge authority Morris claims as a 'second pattern'.

BoBD (Jon Mills) No 1036 refers.
