Cold War RASC (Royal Army Service Corps) Regimental Police Duty Arm Brassard

A post 1952 Cold War period heavy black cloth arm brassard, as worn by one of the regimental police, with embroidered RASC title, Embroidered British Troops Berlin, Germany Formation Sign (the word Berlin was added in 1952), with very large brass letters R and P displayed on an orange rectangular cloth background with a QEII pattern RASC brass collar badge above and between the letters. Complete with cotter pins and adjustable press studs to the reverse. In good overall condition with some signs of service wear. An unusual item.

This formation badge was adopted shortly after the occupation of the British Zone of Berlin in 1945 by the 7th Armoured Division and attached troops for the Administrative HQ of the British sector. Legend has it that it was used to denote the city of Berlin, encircled by the Soviets occupying East Germany.

Please note I will not post this item to the USA given problems previously encountered on exporting textlies to the USA.
