WW1 31st (Tadcaster) West Riding Ambulance Cap Badge
Scarce WW I brass cap badge with the loops neatly replaced by a stout brooch pin fitting to the reverse as worn by the 31st (Tadcaster) West Riding Ambulance Unit, possibly adapted for wear on a nurse's apron given they had female nurses attached to the unit. A voided shield bearing the Arms above the title scroll, " The West Riding 31 ". Rare.
Formerly a Rifle Volunteer Corps. Based in the Assembly Rooms in York. I have seen a photo of the cap badge being worn.
