Household Cavalry Full Dress Other Ranks King's Crown Bi-Metal Plate, attractively mounted on black patent leather Shield
The curve on these helmet plates makes them quite hard to display as a rule, but this one has been cleverly reshaped (or flattened at the edges) in respect of the side laurel sprays without damaging the actual helmet plate and is secured to a thick and stiff leather wall mountable shield for display. So the problem of how to display one of these off the metal skull has been resolved! A scarce item, but now back in fashion given it is a King's Crown pattern, pre 1952. Two screw posts to the reverse with retaining nuts. I do not know if these are the original fittings and have not taken it off to look. Also a brass buckle for wall mounting to the reverse. In good overall condition, a few small dings but an attractive display. As worn by other ranks of both the 1st and 2nd Life Guards and Royal Horse Guards.
Please note I would prefer NOT to send this to an overseas address but if you do want it please contact me first by email for a quotation first.
