Lewis Gunner / Light Machine Gunner White Metal Proficiency Arm Badge with Original Backing Plate

Lewis Gunner's (later Light Machine Gunner's) proficiency badge in old Enlgish script and nickel dipped to appear as white metal with all three original horizontal loops to the reverse and with its original brass backing plate with cotter pins. This pattern in old English script.

Vendor states white metal versions were worn by Australian servicemen qualified on this weapon. Loops of such a design to suggest made outside of UK. Cannot say I have come across a white metal version before. In very good condition and presumably scarce.
